Start couple therapy if you wanna break up ugly

Couple Therapy?

💑The Ugly Truth 💔 about Couple Counseling🕵️‍♀️

Are you guys living hard times in your marriage and you’re diligently addressing the issue in couple therapy?

I’ve got bad news.

It’s not gonna work!

Sitting on the psychotherapist’s couch is like paying somebody to watch you guys argue. No more than that. The fact is that you can argue for free, in the comfort of your home.

Doing couple therapy with the goal of saving a marriage not only is a waste of time, but also is dangerous. In fact, for a therapy session to be effective, you are required to be honest and to share sensitive information about your feelings.

So, you accept to undergo the session, for the sake of the marriage, and to expose your vulnerable self.

But your spouse will not put the same effort. It’s the opposite, indeed. I heard (and experienced myself) numerous stories of spouses that use against the other spouse what they heard in the private setting of the therapist’s office and that was supposed to be confidential.

People get angry at their spouses for confessions their weaknesses.

Wifes mocking their husband for showing compassion, worries, and distress.

Or women gossiping and mocking their men with their girl-friends club.

Individual therapy is very important and advisable and can open your eyes to aspects of your life that you never noticed and your friends never validated. Eventually, if you think you need help with your marriage, do both individual therapy, separately. Although, not very likely to happen.

However, never ever start couple therapy when you have marital issues!

Couple therapy may work in some cases, and when there is no problem in the marriage, but you guys just want to take the relationship to the next level.

Stop wasting money on Couples Therapy and, for what matters, on anything else you’re doing to save your marriage.
